À propos de l'événement
As part of the commitment to hospitality, bars, restaurants, clubs, breweries, distilleries, and other alcohol-serving spaces can build guest satisfaction and loyalty through improved safety. Establishments where staff are treated with dignity and respect also have better performing teams and lower turnover.
Safe Bars Inc. is a national nonprofit organization that helps alcohol-serving spaces create safe, welcoming, and respectful environments for their patrons and staff. Our innovative programming provides the foundation and catalyst for necessary change in the hospitality and nightlife industries.
Communities dedicated to advocating for one another are essential to create a better society, and the hospitality industry is no exception. Research shows that, while the majority of people see themselves as allies, those people with traditionally marginalized identities are not getting the allyship they deserve. In order to close the gap between intent and action, and drive meaningful change within the hospitality industry, Safe Bars has launched Actionable Allyship. This training empowers hospitality professionals to understand and unpack identity, bias, power, and privilege in order to build empathy, take accountability, and show up as an ally for coworkers and guests with marginalized identities. In this training, you’ll learn:
- What allyship is and why it’s important
- Inequities that impact people with less power and privilege
- Specific ways to take action as an ally
- Inclusive organizational strategies for your hospitality business
This training is 2.5 hours long, trauma-informed, target-centered, evidence-based, experiential, and participatory. The training is live and will not be recorded.
